Robert "Rob" O'Neill (born 10 April 1976) is a former United States Navy SEAL. He is best known for his claims, made in November 2014, of having fired the head shots that killed Osama bin Laden during the raid on his Abbottabad compound on May 2, 2011. ==Early life== O'Neill was born and raised in Butte, Montana. In his youth, his father, Tom, took him hunting and taught him sharpshooting.
